Julia Yuhasz of Shepherd Consulting is a great person to work with and did amazing work for Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Panhandle (HFHEP). As HFHEP made plans to open a ReStore, we needed a business plan, financial pro forma, and operations manual for submission to HFHI as part of the approval process. Once contracted, Ms. Yuhasz immediately engaged with staff and Board members to determine exactly what was needed. She remained in contact with HFHEP throughout the process, providing updates on her progress and keeping us all on the same page. The documents were completed on time even though the allowed timeframe was shortened due to a delay in seeking out her services and the grant deadline. Julia is professional, dedicated, detailed, hardworking, and reliable. I would recommend her for all your consulting needs.

Julia served as Outreach Consultant to CASA of the Eastern Panhandle, directing communications strategy and volunteer recruitment initiatives from November 2019 through December 2021. Working closely with the executive director, Julia managed both day-to-day communications and long-term agency initiatives. She continues to provide strategic marketing, fundraising, and communications guidance to the organization.

Julia was an early adopter of virtual communication methods in 2020, leading the Charles Town club efforts to sustain and grow membership at a time when their Rotary District lost half of its membership. With her PR support and campaign guidance, as well as a strong fundraising team, the signature club fundraising event, Christmas for Charities, was able to raise nearly $80,000 for local nonprofits and Rotary initiatives despite being entirely virtual in both 2020 and 2021.

Julia provided Friends of Happy Retreat with graphic design, event planning and fundraising services in 2019 and 2020 for the launch of a signature fundraising gala, Ballroom Bash. This private fundraiser grossed $10,000 each year to support the preservation and strategic development of a designated National Treasure in Charles Town, West Virginia.
